ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The Second International Workshop on Model Reduction in Reacting Flow will be hosted by the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana, USA. This is the continuation of the first workshop held at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 2007.
The meeting will be held at the Center for Continuing Education on the University of Notre Dame campus.
The Workshop's main areas of interest are:
- Theoretical foundations of model reduction including definitions of slow, fast, invariant manifolds and related subjects
- Chemical kinetic mechanism simplification
- Model reduction in ODE's and PDE's
- Model reduction in systems with non trivial asymptotic dynamics
- Computational tools to analyze numerically generated reacting flow
The objective of the Workshop is to provide a forum for:
- exploring relationships among different methods,
- exploring capabilities and limitations of different methods, and
- reporting on new developments, in the area of model reduction in reacting flow.
